The thinking

ThinkingBusinesses

A space where I share what I’ve learned, questioned, and observed about business, technology, and the decisions that shape growth

Nisarg Balid

HI, I'M NISARG BALID

Understanding how businesses actually grow has become the question that shapes my work. I help translate complex technology into business opportunities, and ThinkingBusinesses is where I share what that translation actually looks like, one idea at a time.

What I do today

I lead marketing at NewVision Software, a SoftServe Company, shaping how the business gets positioned and understood by the market, from messaging and content to how a technology story actually lands with leaders facing real problems or looking to scale.

NewVision Software

NewVision Software helps enterprises modernize, build, and assure digital products and platforms through Product Engineering, Cloud, Data & AI, Intelligent Automation, and Digital Assurance.

MY JOURNEY

It started as a developer

Interestingly, my career didn't begin in marketing. It began in software development. My first real job, at K-Palms Technologies, had me working with HTML, CSS, and .NET, along with some early SEO work for client projects.

What got me curious

I was fairly average on the technical side, but I became more interested in what happened beyond the technology. Why would one company invest heavily in a piece of technology while another wouldn't? Why could two businesses use the same tool and get completely different results?

The turn

A director I worked under noticed that curiosity in me and told me he thought I'd do better on the business side. I wanted to shift my focus and approach towards business, so I went on to do my MBA at Wadia College.

What followed

I spent years helping other companies grow, first in B2B marketing and business development at Emmersive Infotech and later at Fonzel. Eventually, I co-founded Elephants Office, a workspace solutions company of my own, where I learned what it takes to run a business end to end, not just market one. A colleague started calling me "The Marketing Man" somewhere along the way. I never argued with it.

What I kept noticing

Across all those experiences, I kept seeing the same thing. Technology was rarely the real problem. Strategy wasn't always the problem either. More often, things went wrong because people weren't clear about what they were actually trying to solve.

Nisarg Balid Perspective to bridge the gap between technical to business

My Perspective

I don’t write about technology as someone who builds it. I write about what it actually means for you, the business trying to make a decision about it. My job is closer to a bridge than a lab, connecting the people building extraordinary things with the people who have to decide what to do with them.

How I Think

Start with the problem before you jump to the solution.

Look for clarity before you build the strategy.

Look past the trend to what it actually changes for your business.

Challenge your assumptions with evidence, not just opinion.

Say the original thing, even if the popular thing is easier.
